principle photography + storytelling

Self-proclaimed BBQ master, cast iron fanatic, and a lover of most things idiotic, I am a storyteller at heart and my goal is to tell yours. My philosophy of image creation is one that balances visual information with functional aesthetic. The goal is to create images that are thoughtful without pretence or overbearing style. I do not believe in talking about myself in 3rd person.

I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography and a Master of Fine Arts in Documentary Media. I am in my journeyman years of successfully owning my photography business.

As someone who eat, lives, and breathes photography, I’m often tinkering with vintage cameras or working in the darkroom when I’m not working on shoots.

Lately woodworking has been an amateur hobby of mine, makers gotta make right?

design + communications

I’m a design and communications specialist that has worked extensively in both Toronto and London. My areas of expertise are wordpress development, digital media strategy, branding and campaign designs. Making non-profits, startups and small businesses branding and marketing dreams come true is what I love to do.

Starting my art career with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Mount Allison University with majors in photography, printmaking and painting, and minors in religious studies and art history, I have always had an eye for fine design. My love of all things old lead me to complete a Masters of Fine and Decorative Art from the Sotheby’s Institute, University of Manchester in 2011, where I wrote my thesis on art education in France, Italy and the United Kingdom. My career path hasn’t been straightforward; starting as a conservation assistant at the Owens Art Gallery, then an internship lead me to archiving and designing for the Arms and Armour department of Sotheby’s lead by Thomas Del Mar. After I made the decision to return home to Toronto, I became the Director of Design and Communications at The Glenn Gould Foundation. Most recently, I was the Communications Manager at Skyship Entertainment, home to one of Canada’s biggest YouTube channels with 14m subscribers, Super Simple.

The Side Hustle has been my side hustle since 2014, but it became my full-time gig in 2019. I’ve been fortunate enough to work with a variety of clients including Fintraq, MP’s Driver Education, Grassland Grazers, JBL Natural Skincare and The Glenn Gould Foundation.
